Working in town has probably not been the best thing for my coffee addiction simply because of the endless options for that early morning cup of coffee; one thing for is that A good cup of coffee makes for a even better day. To be honest I have tasted and enjoyed every single cup of coffee I have had in the CBD but I always found myself going to the same coffee shops. Since YourDailyJay is all about sharing adn exposing Cape Town,I decided to share my thoughts about the best coffee shops in and around Waterkant Street in Cape Town.
I come up with rating system for Coffee shops that express everything you are supposed to feel when you enjoy a cup of coffee.
Taste : How much did I actually enjoy the cup of coffee.
Vibe: the experience I had regarding the staff, the décor.
Overall Experience: my rating out of 5 with everything in a hole.
Rating Scale
5 Stars - Amazing
4 Stars - Great
3 Stars - Good
2 Stars - Okay
1 Star - Bleak
No. 3 - Hausbrandt cafe

Hausbrandt was my first love of coffee in Cape Town, to the point I had my very own spot once 7am came the table clear because customers knew I was coming, obviously I am dreaming again but experiencing the first real cup of coffee especially a brand all the way from Germany I feel like an International coffee addict.
Taste:

- The coffee is good , some may say im being mean but im not, you have to enjoy your coffee everytime you go there and sometimes its too hot and burnt and sometimes just bland.
Vibe:

- A coffee shops vibe is supposed to be chilled and also make you feel comfortable but the decor and vibe is fast paced and clearly it can be seen when you enter the shop but sometimes when you preparing for a hard day at the office, you need a good vibe.

Overall Rating:

3 stars for being Good, I will always return to the coffee shop for a nice HOT cup of coffee.
No. 2 - TRUTH (Somerset Rd)

Truth coffee shop along Somerset Road is in the most amazing location if you look at its surrounding with an amazing view of Cape Towns Biggest beauty staring at it. Truth coffee also a local brand with their HQ in Buitenkant Street in the CBD.
Taste:

Coffee at TRUTH makes be happy but the biggest problem I have is that they are convinced that their coffee doesnt need sugar.
Vibe:

Truths vibe is one of a kind, a very unique way of taking the theme of a coffee shop seriously makes them one of my favourite shops.

Overall Rating:

Unique and chilled coffee shops are the best for a little bit of an escape from the world or early morning rush.
And now to my ultimate favourite Coffee Shop that has walked into my life and has given me the reason to have the best BREAK AWAY from life.

If you follow me on Instagram I have been posting about my experiences at Waterkant Streets new little gem amongst the busy streets of the CBD . Breakaway cafe together with up cycle have joined forces and created the best hub for all generations to enjoy the best cup of coffee in the world.
OVERALL RATING:

for me coffee is life it makes your day good or bad. but Breakaway has something special its a combination of a good vibe with amazing and enthaustic staff. I always feel like one of the family.
I was there when they started and I have watched them grow, new faces walking in and new additions to the new. yes i have tried them all but we live a long life (no not the milk) so there will be a chance.
