YDJ meets Mishka Patel

I had the honor to interview one of South Africans beauties that have graced our screens and inspired many young lives since 2014. Miskha Patel. We all know here from Miss South Africa and on SABC 3 Win a house (on screens now). When it comes to being in spotlight some may think that you start listening to the ideas and expectations of what society and public think you should be, We all do it, what you see on TV or even read in magazines that is who real person that’s something we should all take out of my minds.

Mishka is a normal 23-year-old girl from Stellenbosch, with an amazing soul and the greatest push in life. One of the many things she had said we all have our off days, but we do the things we need to do with the greatest of smiles which Mishka learns from her role model being her Mother, A mother's love is something we all sometimes take for granted. When I asked Mishka about her role model, without a doubt or even a breath of oxygen, She uttered her words “my mother” I will never forget the look of affection and joy as she explained her reasons why “we go through tough times, my mother especially but she does it with a smile, no matter what she is feeling inside, her strength is impeccable”. A role model is something many people look on the inside for and sometimes they never close to your heart, but Mishka has now learnt the strength of a mother is something we can't take for granted.

In 2014 – She was a contestant for Miss South Africa, and she is extremely proud of what she had achieved in that year. Her biggest achievement was finally accepting her flaws. What flaws I asked myself one of Mishka’s insecurities that she was bullied for at school was her forehead which she covered up with a fringe She went on to tell me about the moment she realizing her beauty was the day Carl Isaacs who was the Stylist for the miss south Africa competition, during the swimwear challenge in the competition where they could wear their hair loose and look ultra sexy, Carl had different idea for Mishka, Her hair had to be sleeked back, no fringe. One of the phrases she can't forget is “I don’t know why you have a curtain face at all time, I don’t know what to have to hide” something that not many girls want to face especially with the memory of being judged for it. After the hairstyle was complete Carl went on to tell her “See yourself like the rest of world sees you” and at the end of the day she won that challenge.

Mishka biggest goals in life promote a healthy lifestyle. Being sponsored by brands like Adidas, Juice Revolution and Biogen gives her the extra boost to achieve her goal to make a healthy lifestyle look effortless to her triple F (Followers,Family and Friends) but not saying she doesn’t enjoy her cheat days and few tubs of ice cream. Another thing that makes this so easy is her love for the outdoors and nature, especially when you grew up in the picture perfect town Stellenbosch in Cape Town

Her style is nothing less of Classic and elegant obviously seen through the camera lense that she is an ultimate girl with the biggest crush on fashion. The typical Girly girl with a bit of Sporty side. She enjoys her days when she in full blown girl zone and then she has those cosy days to her gym gear days and comfortable is best.Mishka you rock all the looks

Mishka fashion inspirations comes from the ladies that have the same mindset in fashion as her, her icons both known for being born in South Africa, ladies who are nationally known their classic, elegant, simple, sleek, sexy looks Joanne Straus and Charlize Theron. Two ladies that believe that you need to dress for the respect of other and not for the attention. Which is nothing less from what Mishka stands for which is clear in her Social Media images,from fashion to beauty Mishka is obsessed with MAC cosmetics. Her favourite product being their foundation because you can see that you have makeup on, one thing that Mishka believes in is the fact that "Makeup should enhance your inner beauty does not take over"

one question I had to ask just is who is Mishka Patel's #MCM and #WCW.

#MCM: Channing Tatum...need I say more #WCW: Mila Kunis for the simple fact her beauty is incredible and the fact she embraces her beauty and walk out no makeup and not care what people things.

There you go, Mishka Patel spent time inspiring and making me realise my dreams and I have learnt so much, she definitely one to watch and one to look up to. Mishka Patel keep doing you and I can't wait watch you fight for your dreams and make your dreams come true.
