YourDailyJay is dedicated to bringing new amazing designers to your fingertips. Fashion designers are recognized for their ability to bring that shy fashionista out. we all know an inspiring fashion designer.

Having recently graduated with her BA in Fashion from one of the top Fashion schools in South Africa Fedisa, Shana -Lee's passion for fashion, and arts allowed her to start her career in fashion, Shana - Lee lives for adventures and the challenges that comes with adventure and by being a trainee buyer for Ackermans, she has that opportunity to experience brand new challenges everyday.

"I believe that things happen for a reason and that you are never too old to grow and learn."

When we reach that time of our lives when a decision has to be made of what we will be doing with our lives and sometimes you dont know what you will be doing. Shana -Lee's passion for fashion was one of those hidden talents that she didnt know about, when coming to make that decision about what subject she was going to take in her final years of her schooling career, she came to the conclusion to choose the subjects that will give her a greater chance in starting a career for herself.

"The one day I saw my friend doodling and drawing dresses and costumes for

fun so I decided to do it one day when I was bored. I realised how much I enjoyed it and that’s when I started design."

The more the projects she was given challenged her, with designing, styling and putting, outfits together, working with colours and seeing her desgins come to life, the love affair grew stronger and stronger.

No matter what career path you take, we all have our favourite part of it, the part that you look forward to and if we were able to sit and dot it all day we would. Shana - Lee's responded:

"My favourite part about being a designer is being able to break the rules and people’s perceptions. Being able to design something or a concept and then bringing it to life in ways that people can’t even imagine. Surprising people; showing them that I’m more than what they expected and showing them what I’m capable of. And lastly being able to surprise myself; pushing past my comfort zone and trying new things."

Here are Shana Lee's:

1: Definition of 'fashion'

Fashion to me is a living breathing thing; it is constantly growing, constantly learning and constantly changing. It is an art, a passion and a drive to be creative in all outlooks of not only one’s life, but also of one’s self. Fashion was created for more than just creating clothes; it was designed to give artists a platform to speak their words in ways that only they can understand; to bring life to the lifeless and inspire style to those who crave it. Fashion never stops; it is always moving and always different from one person to the next. It’s a dare; a chance to feel vulnerable, but a chance to show people a passion unlike any other.

2: Defintion of 'style"

Style is us; we are style. Being able to wear literally anything with confidence is style. Defying the rules of fashion and creating your own is style. Not caring what others think is style. I believe that there are the trendsetters and the trend followers. The ones that follow trends seek to be accepted, but the ones who create their own trends and don’t follow the norm are unique and stylish in their own way that they have already been accepted without even seeking it.

3: Designer Inspiration:

My fashion inspiration is Paul van Zyl, Hendrick Vermeulen, heath Nash. They are all South African designers and have managed to create an international name for themselves. They have pushed past the boundaries set by our society and politics and managed to bring inspiration to everyone who meets them.

Paul has such an elegant touch to his designs and I love pure elegance. Hendrick uses corsetry and draping in ways that I can only ever dream to be able to do.

Heath isn’t a clothing designer but he is an amazing interior designer, who recycles milk bottles and plastic in his designs and that’s what I meant by fashion is o diverse. It draws inspiration from everything around us; even the things we recycle.

4: The ultimate fashion crime is socks with flip flops!!!!

Hands down the worst...it’s so bad it doesn’teven need an explanation . But personally my worst fashion crime was wearing my boots with my bright colourful rainbow TOE socks on a shopping spree and needing to try on shoes. I told myself before going to the shops that I wasn’t going to buy shoes but ended up needing to try a pair on anywhere.

Shana- Lee's Tips when creating your personal style:

When creating your style follow your heart! That’s the biggest tip. Less is more...this is my personal motto for life! Keep a style clean with simple, crisp lines and silhouettes and style it up with accessories, after all that’s why accessories were made :P Know yourself; not just in body shape and what suits your shape, but in what makes you feel comfortable and confident at the same time...and lastly...get a second opinion if you are unsure. 9 times outta 10 if you feel weird and funny in your look then chances are you look funny and weird in it. We all give off our emotions and the first way we do is in what we wear, so wear things that bring out your confidence!

Shana - Lee's 2015 winter must have:

A scarf and multipurpose belt. If your outfit is looking plain or dull spruce it up with a colourful or quirky scarf.A scarf is a great accessory that can complete a look. If you have a simple outfit with a plain top, add an awesome belt to create curves, style, or as a distraction. Use it to draw people’s attention to the belt and away from something that you might be more self conscious of (hips/bum/waist/etc). For example wearing a belt in the waist helps create curves and wearing it at the top hip elongates your frame.

YourDailyJay wishes Shana-Lee well, and cant wait what life has instore for her and maybe sooner than we may think Shana-Lee will
